Mississippi RiverKings News Release

Your RiverKings will again be out and about in the Mid-South in the upcoming weeks, so be sure to join us at these upcoming appearances.

RiverKings mascots are appearing at noon on Monday, August 10th, during the Muscular Dystrophy Association Golf Tournament at the TPC Southwind Course in Memphis. The tournament will help raise funds for MDA and their efforts, including the fight against ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. The mascots will be there between noon and 1 PM.

On Saturday, August 15th, RiverKings mascots will be out in support of the 27th annual Elvis Presley International 5K Run, Rock, and Roll, benefitting the United Cerebral Palsy of the Mid-South and Greater Memphis Special Olympics. The Elvis Week event starts from the gates of Graceland (3734 Elvis Presley Blvd.) in Memphis, with the mascots there bright and early from 7:30 to 8:30 AM. Over 2000 entrants from around the world will join in the family fun and raise money for UCP.

That same weekend on Sunday, August 16th, the Memphis Youth Hockey League will start gearing up for the hockey season with the first annual MYHL Hockey Expo at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven from 1-4 PM in the afternoon. Mascots will again be on hand to help the MYHL build provide information on their program and build excitement for the upcoming season ahead.

The RiverKings look forward to help support your particular event and spread the word about the team and hockey in the Mid-South. If you would like to have members of the RiverKings (staff, players, mascots, etc) come out to speak or appear at your activity, give Community Development Coordinator Whitley Rives a call at 662.342.1755 or by email at whitley@riverkings.com.
