SOUTHAVEN, MS --- Your Mississippi RiverKings remain out and about in the Mid-South community again recently. Here's some of what has been going on with the RiverKings!

Friday, August 28th, mascot Sheldon the Turtle marched ducks and played catch with Redbirds in downtown Memphis. Sheldon was the honorary Duckmaster for the afternoon March of the Famous Peabody Ducks at the historic hotel. After that, he walked on to AutoZone Park, the home of the PCL Memphis Redbirds, where he threw out the first pitch before that evening's game between the Redbirds and Round Rock Express.

Sheldon was also busy at Brown Missionary Baptist Church in Southaven, supporting the "When Lambs Cry" ministry Back To School Rally on August 14th. "When Lambs Cry" is an ongoing ministry of the church to build stronger bonds between parents and children.

The RiverKings mascot also ran with Elvis and his fans at the 28th annual Elvis Presley, Run, Walk, Rock and Roll starting and ending near the gates of Graceland. The event on the morning of August 14th benefitted United Cerebral Palsy of the Mid-South. Over 2,000 runners took part in this activity.

Don't forget, the Jr. StreetKings youth roller hockey fall league championship game is at the Hernando Civic Center covered rink facility will be played Saturday, September 4th, beginning at 10 AM. A cookout for league players and families will take place there at the conclusion of the contest.
