SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced today that goaltender Peter Di Salvo has returned from loan to ECHL Fort Wayne and that captain Leo Thomas has been called up by Fort Wayne. There is no timetable for his return.

Di Salvo, 25, is in his third professional season and his second with the RiverKings. The Oakville, Ontario native appeared in 12 games with the RiverKings prior to his call up and posted an 8-3-1 record with a league-leading 2.07 goals against average and 93.3 save percentage. The 6-foot, 196-pound netminder appeared in two ECHL games with Colorado and was 1-1-0 with a 3.06 goals against average and 89.1 save percentage before being claimed off waivers by Fort Wayne.

Di Salvo replaced Dalton McGrath who was waived by the team on Monday.

Thomas, 34, is in his 13th professional season and third with the RiverKings. The Toronto, Ontario native played four seasons with Fort Wayne from 2008 until 2012 when the team played in the IHL and CHL. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound center had 12 points this season in 17 games with the RiverKings.

Additionally, Luke Kasteel announced his retirement from hockey. He was acquired from the Louisiana IceGators on December 8 and had one goal in 10 games.

The RiverKings return to Concorde Career College Ice at the Landers Center on Friday, January 22 at 7:05 p.m. in a rematch against the Louisiana IceGators. Goaltender Peter Di Salvo rejoins the RiverKings after spending time in the ECHL with Colorado and Fort Wayne. Di Salvo posted a league-best 2.07 goals against average prior to his call up.
