RiverKings Gear Up For Annual Golf Scramble

(Southaven, MS) --- The Mississippi RiverKings hockey team is beginning preparations for its sixth-annual Mississippi RiverKings Golf Scramble, presented by Emergency Mobile Health Care. The tournament is set for Friday, October 2nd, at Hernando Hills Country Club in Hernando, starting with lunch and registration at 11:30 AM and a 1 PM shotgun start.

Participants will enjoy a round of golf, and have the opportunity to meet and golf with this season's players and coach Kevin "Killer" Kaminski. After the tournament there will be a putting contest with winners receiving prizes and RiverKings' gifts. The day will end with dinner, a live auction, prizes, and a raffle.

Players can register individually or in teams of four players together. The fee for a four-player team is $500, while individual players can register for $125. Registration includes the greens fee, golf carts, and use of the driving range.

When registering, names of the players participating and their shirt sizes will need to be provided.

With only a limited number of spots available, entry fees must be paid by September 25th in order to guarantee golf reservations.

Sponsorship opportunities include sponsoring a hole, beverage cart, "Closest to the Pin" contest and signage, and golf T-shirts among others. Sponsorship fees must also be paid by September 25th.

All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Jr. StreetKings youth hockey program of Hernando Youth Sports. The RiverKings work with the Jr. StreetKings to provide the opportunity for local youth to participate in street hockey programs during the summer months at the Hernando Civic Center covered rink facility on the south edge of Hernando.

Any donations will go a long way in helping local children enjoy the benefits of hockey in the Mid-South. Patrons interested in donating items for the auction and for goodie bags for tournament participants can call Cristin Franklin at 662-342-1755 at the RiverKings office between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
