Mississippi RiverKings News Release
SOUTHAVEN, MS --- Get ready to bid and bowl! The RiverKings With A Cause charity club is hosting its sixth "Kings of the Alley" bowling event Sunday, January 23 at Cotton Bowl Lanes in Southaven, from 2-5 p.m.
Fans can bowl with their favorite RiverKings player and four of their friends, with shoe rental fees included. To bid on a player, fans can stop by the RiverKings With A Cause (RKWAC) table behind section 118 at upcoming home games.
Bidding starts at $60 for each player, and will end two minutes before the second intermission on Saturday, January 22. RKWAC will also raffle off RiverKings items and memorabilia during the bowling event.
"It ¬â¢s always a lot of fun for the players and everyone who attends," said RKWAC member Lisa Watson. "You get to see the guys in a different setting outside of hockey, and raise money for great causes."
RiverKings With A Cause is a fan-run, team-supervised charity club, which gives fans an opportunity to do volunteer work, support team charitable initiatives, and invite players to participate in community efforts.
All proceeds benefit RKWAC chosen charities and beneficiaries for the 2010-2011 season: Assists for Autism, Hockey for Humanity (Memphis Habitat for Humanity), Ronald McDonald House, and local breast cancer survivors and support.
For more information, stop by the RiverKings With A Cause Club table behind section 118 during a game, or call the Community Development Department in the RiverKings office at 662.342.1755 for more information.
