Mississippi RiverKings News Release

PEORIA, Ill. -- After combining for 11 goals in their last two games, the Mississippi RiverKings' (25-15-3) offense stalled against Kyle Rank's 32-save effort as the Peoria Rivermen (23-14-4) snapped the RiverKings' three-game winning streak with a 3-0 decision in Peoria on Sunday afternoon.

The Rivermen scored just 4:14 into the first. With Brett Valliquette in penalty box for high sticking, Parker Stanfield buried the puck past Matt Krahn on a pass from Garrett Vermeersch to put Peoria up 1-0.

In the second, former RiverKing Adam Feniak led an odd-man rush and beat Krahn between the legs just 5:46 into the middle frame to put Peoria ahead by two. Tyler Larson and Vermeersch assisted on Feniak's second goal of the season as the RiverKings went into the locker room down by two.

The Rivermen held the RiverKings scoreless on the visitors' third-period power play before Stanfield recorded his second goal of the game, an empty-netter to hand the Rivermen a 3-0 win.

Matt Krahn (12-7-3) took the loss after stopping 21 of 24 shots against. Kyle Rank (14-5-0) collected his league-leading sixth shutout after turning aside all 32 shots against.

The RiverKings return to the Landers Center on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. as they take on the Huntsville Havoc. The RiverKings will wear special Pink in the Rink jerseys that will be auctioned off immediately after the game.
