Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release

Pittsburgh - The Pittsburgh Riverhounds will kick off the 2014 season with a trip to Houston, Texas February 15-23 to begin preseason training. The weeklong trip will take place at Houston Sports Park; the official training grounds of MLS affiliate, the Houston Dynamo.

Riverhounds Head Coach Justin Evans is optimistic about the early start this season.

In year's past, the Club has begun preseason training the second week of March.

"The way I see it, the earlier start to this year's preseason will help us on three fronts," states Evans. "It will help our team gel together earlier than ever before, it will give my coaching staff and the players a better understanding of each other on the field, and lastly it will aid us in ensuring that our fitness level is high."

The preseason trip will consist of several team training sessions as well as exhibition/friendly matches with the Houston Dynamo First Team, the Dynamo U-18 Academy Team, and Houston Baptist College.

The Riverhounds will return to Pittsburgh in late February and continue their preseason training at Highmark Stadium throughout March. Information regarding exhibition and training times in Pittsburgh will be released soon. For up-to-date information about the Riverhounds preseason training in Houston, visit riverhounds.com
