Wilmington Hammerheads FC News Release
Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads FC have officially announced that defender Troy Cole will be returning to Wilmington for the 2014 USL PRO regular season. Cole debuted with the Hammerheads in 2012 and will return to the squad for the upcoming season after playing with VSI Tampa Bay FC last year.
"I am glad to have Troy back," said David Irving, Head Coach of Wilmington Hammerheads FC. "He was a big part of our success in 2012 and a good ambassador for our club in the community."
Cole is currently on the defensive line for his second season with Major Indoor Soccer League's Rochester Lancers. Better known on the Lancers as one-half of the duo the 'Bash Brothers', Cole has featured in each game this season tallying two goals and one assist. MISL will conclude its 2013-2014 season in March.
"The atmosphere in Wilmington is exhilarating and I am really looking forward to be back in action," said Cole. "It has been said numerous times, but Wilmington truly does have some of the best fans in the league."
Prior to signing with the Hammerheads and going to the USL PRO Championship in 2012, Cole signed with FC New York. Cole signed his first professional contract with AC St. Louis of the USSF Division 2 Professional League in 2010.
