Riverhounds Host FC Dallas Reserves at Highmark Stadium

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds will play host to the FC Dallas Reserves in a 3:00PM EST match on Sunday, August 24th at Highmark Stadium.

The Riverhounds (7-12-5) remain in the hunt for one of the final USL PRO playoff positions. With just four points separating 8th place from 13th place in the standings, the Hounds are one of several teams who don't expect the playoff field to be decided until the final days of the season. The Riverhounds will have three games remaining following Sundays match.

"There's five...six teams that are in the same position we are," said interim head coach Niko Katic. "Every game is a playoff game right now, and it's been like that for us for the past month. It's nothing new. We knew we'd have to push until the end."

The Riverhounds are seeking to bounce back from a disappointing 3-1 road loss to Arizona United FC on Saturday, August 16th. Playing without regulars Joseph Ngwenya, Danny Earls, Andrew Marshall, and Jose Angulo, the Riverhounds struggled to generate much offensively.

After a scoreless first half, the Riverhounds gave up three consecutive goals to the home United. Mackenzie Pridham scored the lone Riverhounds goal when he headed in a Rob Vincent corner kick in the 87th minute.

"It was a tough loss...any loss is tough at this point. We can't make excuses though, we just have to get back to doing what we know we can do," added Katic.

The Riverhounds roster will be bolstered Sunday with the return of Earls and Ngwenya. Angulo has been training with the team and is day-to-day and will be a game time decision. Mackenzie Pridham will be unavailable due to a family obligation.

The FC Dallas Reserves have been idle since a July 11, 3-0 loss to the Rochester Rhinos.
