Hammerheads Prep for Back-To-Back Road Matches

Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads FC is scheduled for back-to-back matches against Orange County Blues FC on Saturday, August 23 at 10:00 p.m. ET at Anteater Stadium and LA Galaxy II on Sunday, August 24 at 3:00 p.m. ET at StubHub Center.
The Hammerheads enter the weekend matchups following a 2-0 defeat against Sacramento Republic FC on Wednesday night at Bonney Field. Republic FC took an early lead with a Thomas Stewart goal in the 15th minute and would add to their lead in the 76th minute after defender Emrah Klimenta sent a shot past Hammerheads goalkeeper Brad Stuver to secure the victory.
Orange County Blues FC moves into Saturday's match after experiencing their worst loss of the season against Republic FC in 6-1 defeat on Sunday. Following a 1-1 equalizer in the first half, Sacramento scored five goals in the second half to clinch the victory. The Blues are one point above the Hammerheads in the current league standings, making Saturday's match crucial for each team to earn a victory approaching playoffs.
Saturday's match can be viewed live on Orange County Blues FC's YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/OCBluesFC . The Hammerheads will not be hosting a watch party for this match.
LA Galaxy II has secured a spot in playoffs after dominating the upper half of the league standings for majority of the regular season. Galaxy II took a recent 1-0 victory over Oklahoma City Energy FC after former Hammerheads player Daniel Steres scored in the 19th minute off a corner kick. Sunday's match will be the first encounter between the Hammerheads and Galaxy II during the regular season.
