RiverHawks Walk In Winning Run

Rockford RiverHawks News Release


O'FALLON, Mo. –The Rockford RiverHawks walked in the winning run as the River City Rascals won 3-2 Saturday night.

River City scored first in the bottom of the first inning when Mike Madrid hit a RBI double making the score 1-0.

Aaron McEachran led off the second inning with a double. McEachran later scored on a RBI ground out by Ryan Larson that tied the game at one. Ben Fjelland hit a RBI double in the fourth inning that gave the RiverHawks a 2-1 lead.

River City tied the game in the seventh inning when Jon Williams hit a RBI double.

River City took the lead when Derrick Ellison walked Mikela Olsen with the bases loaded in the eighth inning.

Joe Thatcher (1-2) got the win in relief for River City. Ellison (1-2) took the loss for the RiverHawks.

The series wraps Sunday at 6:05. The ‘Hawks return home for the finals of Rockford Idol, sponsored by Al Grace Appliance and Manley Motors, Monday at 7:05. Call (815) 964-2255 for tickets.
