Riverhawks Sign Local Talent

Johnstown RiverHawks News Release


Johnstown - Former Saint Francis of Pennsylvania and California University of Pennsylvania standout lineman Tony Morgan (6-1, 295) has signed with the Johnstown Riverhawks of the American Indoor Football League. In High School Tony was a standout linebacker and Plum High School (Plum, PA) where he was named to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette Fabulous 22 all star team as a senior. Following high school Tony went on to play at Saint Francis University where he started all 10 games as a freshman at defensive tackle. Tony transferred to California University of PA where he switched over to the offensive side of the ball and started for 2 years at center for the Vulcans. Since college Tony has worked out for a number of CFL teams.

Most recently Tony played with the Ohio Valley Greyhounds of the United Indoor Football League where he had a very solid first season playing on the offensive and defensive lines. Tony is also the older brother of St. Louis Rams offensive tackle Matt Morgan.

The Riverhawks kick off their season on the road March 4 2006 against the Steubenville Stampede.
