Rockford RiverHawks News Release
Rockford, IL- The Rockford RiverHawks (12-12) ended the Washington WildThings eight game winning streak and stretched their streak to four games. Rockford rallied in the eighth inning for a 5-3 victory at Marinelli Field. Washington (17-6) took the lead early on a Josh Loggins two-run homer over the left- field wall. They scored again in the seventh on a Ryan Ellis RBI single. The RiverHawks came alive in the bottom half of the eighth due in large part to poor Washington pitching. The WildThings walked three batters, hit two more, and had three errors. The RiverHawks lone hit in the inning was a RBI double by Kiley Vaughn. Joe Kjose (1-2) came on in relief to record the victory for Rockford. Blake Leonards (2-1) picked up the loss for Washington.
