
Kings Swept at Rockford

Late innings continue to curse the Kalamazoo Kings (8-14) as they lost their second straight game against the Rockford Riverhawks (11-12) 7-2 on Wednesday night at Marinelli Field. Rockford scored first in the bottom of the 2nd inning, but the Kings countered in the top of the 3rd after shortstop Kevin Wilson singled and then scored on a double off the bat of second baseman Delvin Haskell. Rockford scored a run in the bottom of the 4th and the bottom of the 5th, but the Kings scored in the top of the 6th to pull within 1 run. Haskell singled into right field and then scored on a double by DH Tory Haven. But in the bottom of the 7th, the Riverhawks bats came alive as they scored 4 runs on 4 hits. Matt Sheets picked up his 3rd loss of the season for the Kings while Frank James recorded his 3rd win for Rockford.
The Kings will try to get their first road win of the season as the travel to Hawkinson Ford Field to take on the Cook County Cheetahs.
