The Tip Off

The Quad City Riverhawks are riding a seven game win streak and in first place in the Western Conference after back to back wins over Chicago and Reading this past weekend. The 'Hawks host second place Arkansas this Friday at Wharton Field House in Moline.

Riverhawks Down Throwbacks

Edgington, IL-The Quad City Riverhawks took their show on the road on Saturday even though they were the home team. The Riverhawks had to move their game to Rockridge High School due to the IHSA team State Dual Wrestling Championships being moved from Northern Illinois University to Wharton Field House. The Riverhawks did not disappoint their new fans with a 113-96 victory over the Chicago Throwbacks. A crowd of 500 showed up and got a first hand look at the Western conference leaders. Quad City jumped on the Throwbacks early with a 34-16 first quarter lead. Their lead grew to twenty by half with a 57-37 advantage. The game is in control the entire game as the Riverhawks finished off the Throwbacks. Quinnel Brown led the Riverhawks with 23 points with a rare start. Dave

Bancroft and Bobby Anderson both had double doubles with Bancroft scoring 14 pts. and adding 13 rebs. While Anderson had 11 pts and 13 rebs.

QC Hangs on to Gain Win Over Railers

Moline, IL-On Sunday the Riverhawks returned home to Wharton Field House to take on the Reading Railers. Reading upset the Eastern Conference leading

Rochester Razorsharks the night before. Sunday's game was a rare occasion for the Riverhawks as they scored less than 100 points for just the second time this season. Quad City still came out on top with a 96-93 victory extending their winning streak to seven games. Antiony Hardin lead the way with 20 points for the Riverhawks but Bobby Anderson registered his second double-double in as many games by adding 15 points and 14 rebs.

Riverhawks Host Arkansas

Moline, IL- Second place Arkansas visits Wharton Field House on Friday, February 29th. The Quad City Riverhawks look to use "Leap Day" as a springboard into the final weeks of the season. The 'Hawks hold a three game lead over the Impact. The Riverhawks last met

Arkansas on the road to weeks ago gaining a 118-105 victory over the Impact. This will be the fourth time these two teams have met. Quad City holds a 2-1 advantage over Arkansas this season. The game will feature the league's top two scorers in QC's Ryan Edwards (24.4 ppg) and Arkansas's Jeremy Bell (23.5 ppg).

Edwards Named PBL Player of the Week

Quad City Riverhawk Ryan Edwards was named PBL Player of the Week on Monday. Edwards averaged 17 ppg this weekend

including a double-double on Saturday against Chicago. The 6'5 forward from Missouri

Baptist is leading the PBL in scoring with 24.4 points per game.

Riverhawks Give Fans a Shot to Win $10,000

Riverhawks General Manager Eric Hutchins announced this week that the team will give one fan an opportunity to win $10,000. One fan's name will be drawn to compete in the "Pick A Spot Shot contest." The fan will have to make two shots from the same spot on the floor to win the $10,000.

Riverhawks Unveil New Website

Monday the Quad City Riverhawks unveiled a new redesigned website. The new website will be updated regularly and is easier for fans to use. "I want to thank Chris Wieburg for his hard work in redesigning our website. Chris put in a lot of time and effort to give us a

PBL Showcase Games Announced

The Premier Basketball league will be hosting the "Triple "S" Super Scouting Showcase March 3rd-5th at Attack Athletics in Chicago, IL. The Triple "S" Super Scouting Showcase will feature every team in the league playing two games over three days in front of scouts from around the world. Two Riverhawks games have been rescheduled and will played during the Showcase. The March 2nd game against Dallas has been moved to March 3rd and the March 8th home game against

Maryland will now be played on March 4th. Each team gave up one home game for the Showcase. Times of the games are not

available at this time.

Former Riverhawk returns to QC

The Quad City Riverhawks Head Coach LaTroy Farrow announced that the team has resigned G Lonnie Randolph. Randolph was a 2007 ABA All-Star for the Riverhawks and was a late

training camp cut this season. Randolph appeared in the Quad Cities against the Riverhawks on January 26th as a member of the Dallas Defenders. He led Dallas with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. He played college ball for the Drake University Bulldogs.
