Johnstown RiverHawks News Release
The Johnstown Riverhawks of the Atlantic Indoor Football League have made a few more roster changes that just may help them a win against the Erie Freeze. The Riverhawks traded "future considerations" for Sly Brumfield of the Canton Legends. Brumfield is 13th in the AIFL in receptions, sixth in all-purpose yardage and first in kick return yardage. "Sly is a great addition to our team," said Brian Schwelling team owner, "I still can't believe we were able to acquire him."
The Riverhawks having sustained devastating injuries to Brian King and Chad Ginter at linebacker and and Brett Kolk at OL/DL, have added two-time All-American Alvin Fite from Middle Tennessee State. Fite, at 6'1" and 230 lbs. should prove to be a solid compliment to the returning AIFL leading tackler Allan Jackson. Jackson, who leads the AIFL with 25 1/2 tackles, will return to action this week after surgery on a broken finger. Brandon Hunt, a 6-2, 315 lineman from IUP, has also been added to the team's roster.
Despite missing last week's victory over the AIFL Ghostriders, Kolk leads the AIFL in sacks with nine sacks total. Mike Marshall is tied for third with three sacks - The Riverhawks lead the league in sacks with 17 total sacks after six games. As a team, the Riverhawks are second in the league in scoring offense with an average of 41 points per game and touchdowns scored with 35. The Richmond Bandits top the Riverhawks with and average of 55.0 points per game and 46 touchdowns scored.
Johnstown's Quenteen Robinson is the AIFL leader in all-purpose yards with 563 total yards (346 receiving, 195 kick returns and seven rushing), third in the league with 27 receptions and 10 touchdown receptions and is fourth in the AIFL in scoring with 66 points. Robinson is also fifth in the AIFL in kick return average with a 17.7 yards per return average. Teammate Donte Carter is fifth in the league with 427 all-purpose yards. Quarterback Tony Zimmerman is second in the league with 22 touchdown passes and third in passing yardage with 809 passing yards.
