
Riverhawks drop the "Knees" in last second thriller

Davenport - The Quad City Riverhawks (14-5) ABA Professional basketball team came back from a 17 point deficit in the 3rd quarter to clip the Minnesota Ripknees (12-5) by 1 point, 91-90, and cash in on the $1500 "Money Game" prize which went to the winning team. Ryan Edwards led the Riverhawks comeback with 21 of his game high 36 points in the third quarter. The comeback victory also puts Quad City at the top of their Division.
Drake graduate, Lonnie Randolph, hit the game winning shot with .1 seconds left on the clock to capture his first triple double of the season. Randolph ended the night with 10 points, 10 rebounds and ten assists.
The Ripknees were led by Minnesota States Jamel Staten with 29 pts and 11 rebounds. Johnnie Gilbert and Tyrell Sledge turned in solid performances with 16 and 14 points respectively.
The Riverhawks next home game is Thursday, January 11 against the Twin City Ballers and Peoria comes back to the Quad Cities to battle for the traveling trophy in the "War on 74" Friday, January 12 at 7:05pm.
