CANTON, Ohio - Six touchdown passes from Canton?s Dan Larlham along with a 30-7 first-half deficit proved to be too much for the JohnstownRiverhawks in a 62-48 loss on Wednesday night at Canton Civic Center. The Riverhawks offense, which posted 41 points in the second half, struggled to find its groove in the first 30 minutes. An early interception and a blocked field goal by the Legends helped the hosts bound out to a 14-0 lead. Both touchdowns were scored by fullback Doug Schwaberow. Both possessions were started by Canton?s Lavar Glover, who intercepted a pass and recovered the blocked field goal, setting the Legends up for quick scores. Riverhawks quarterback Adam Haught narrowed the lead early in the second on a 4-yard run. Jason Cherry?s kick made it 14-7. Canton extended the lead to 30-7 before the half, starting with Randall Knapp?s 8-yard touchdown grab. Kicker Dino Zuzic followed with a kickoff through the uprights, adding a point to Canton?s lead. Haught was then sacked in the end zone by Canton?s Dante Booker on Johnstown?s next possession, making it 23-7. Knapp pulled in his second touchdown on Canton?s next drive. The 7-yard touchdown grab plus Zuzic?s extra point gave the hosts a 30-7 advantage. Schwaberow widened the gap early in the third on a 7-yard scamper. Johnstown?s Quenteen Robinson hauled in a pair of 30-yard touchdown receptions sandwiching a 7-yard snag by Canton?s Tim Smith as the Legends held a 43-21 lead after three. Terrence Hudson brought in a pair of touchdowns in the fourth for Johnstown and Robinson tossed a 37-yard pass to Trent Jones and then reeled in a 22-yard pass from Haught for Johnstown?s offensive production in the fourth. The Legends countered with a 24-yard grab by Knapp and two touchdown catches by stationary receiver Chris Archie.
