Riverhawks Add Zimerman To Roster

The Johnstown Riverhawks of the Atlantic Indoor Football League, have announced the signing of quarterback, Tony Zimmerman. Zimmerman was recently released by the Nashville Kats of the Arena Football League. During the 2004 football season Tony quarterbacked the Indiana Firebirds of the Arena football league. Prior to playing for the Firebirds, Tony helped the Quad City Steamwheelers of the af2 post a 14-2 regular season (2003) and a Midwest Division Championship. He was also named the 2003 af2 Offensive Player of the Year by the coaches and media.

During the 2003 season, Zimmerman threw for a league record 93 touchdowns. He finished the season 286-of-512 for 4,357 yards and threw only seven interceptions. Zimmerman had a 13:1 touchdown to interception ratio, the best in the league. He also tallied 17 more touchdowns on the ground, rushing 40 times for 62 yards. He was also the team MVP and a National Conference first team pick.

The 1996 Penn-Trafford High School grad holds many Duquesne passing records. He passed for and threw for 73 touchdowns during his three year career after his freshman year at the University of Pittsburgh.
