Tennessee/Greenville RiverHawks News Release

Greenville, SC- At a press conference held today at the BI-LO center, the Greenville RiverHawks announced the signing of three players for the 2004 National Indoor Football League season.

The RiverHawks signed quarterback Travis Wilson, a former Wofford College standout and South Carolina native. Wilson is the only Wofford player to rank in the top five in rushing, passing, and total offense. It has been argued that Wilson is "the top all-around quarterback to ever play at Wofford." Wilson's statistics merit the claim. He is the career passing leader at Wofford with 4,067 yards, placing second in total offense with 6,555 yards. Wilson also ranks second in all-time completion percentage and set the mark at Wofford for single season total offense in 2000 with 2,157 yards.

The RiverHawks have also signed Darius Tubbs, a wide receiver who played four years at Mississippi State University. Tubbs came to Mississippi as a prep all-state wide receiver from Jess Lanier High School in Alabama. Tubbs played in 11 of 12 possible games in 2000 including the Sanford Independence Bowl, but set a career high with four receptions for 33 yards in MSU's 29-17 win over Memphis in the Liberty Bowl in 2002.

Joe Weber, a full back from Texas A&M University has also signed with the RiverHawks. Weber started at A&M in 2002, and played the 2003 season with the Bossier City Battle Wings of the AF2.

Season tickets are now on sale for the seven Greenville RiverHawks home games. For information call the RiverHawks front office at (864) 250-4947.
