TIPS Announces RiverHawks will not play in 2004 season

March 29, 2004 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL) - Tennessee/Greenville RiverHawks News Release

Greenville, SC- Tri-State Indoor Professional Sports (TIPS) is formally announcing that the National Indoor Football League's Greenville RiverHawks will not play the 2004 regular season. TIPS had entered into a written contract and subsequent verbal agreements with the BI-LO Center in October of 2003. Pursuant to those agreements, TIPS was of the understanding that it would receive and have use of its season ticket sales proceeds. However, based on a dispute as to the provisions of the contract and the subsequent verbal discussions between TIPS and the BI-LO Center, TIPS has not been provided all of the ticket revenues.

TIPS is not in a position to be able to proceed with the scheduled games without access to its ticket revenues. The team cannot pay its ongoing obligations without the ticket sales proceeds. The failure to have access to these funds has prevented TIPS from being able to advertise and market for the 2004 season.

At this time, TIPS is reviewing its legal options resulting from the dispute with the BI-LO Center. TIPS is hopeful of resolving all of these issues in the near future and moving toward the fielding of a team for the 2005 season.
