Riverdragons 3-Point Shootout and Slam Dunk Contest Local Talent Takes Best Shot At 2003 NBA All-Sta

Preliminaries for the Columbus Riverdragons 3-Point Shootout and Slam Dunk Contest will be held Friday, January 10 immediately following the Riverdragons 7 p.m. clash with N. Charleston at the Columbus Civic Center. Finalists in each competition will have the opportunity to win two tickets to the 2003 NBA All-Star Weekend in Atlanta this February.

Fans purchasing tickets to Friday's game will receive complimentary admission to watch the Riverdragons 3-Point Shootout and the Slam Dunk Contest preliminaries. Contestants do not have to purchase tickets to enter but must pre-register. For details, contestants should call (706) 225-1100.

The finals for the 3-Point Shootout will be held during a quarter-break this Saturday, January 11 in between the Riverdragons match-up with the defending NBDL champion Greenville Groove. The finals for the Slam Dunk Contest will be held Martin Luther King Day, Monday, January 20 during halftime of the Riverdragons 2 p.m. meeting with Huntsville.

The winners of the Riverdragons 3-Point Shootout and the Slam Dunk Contest will earn two tickets to attend the 2003 NBA All-Star Weekend including passes to the NBA All-Star Game, All-Star Saturday Night, the Rookies and Sophomore game, Jam Session and more February 7-9 at Philips Arena.

The Riverdragons 3-Point Shootout and Slam Dunk Contest are sponsored locally by Budweiser, Foxie 105, WRBL-3, Columbus Parks and Recreation and the Riverdragons.
