Charleston RiverDogs News Release
Never ones to rest on past successes, the Charleston RiverDogs will feature new items at the concession stands and merchandise shop inside beautiful Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park in 2007.
"We had a record number of people come to our games last year and that won't stop us from trying to improve on what our fans want," said General Manager Dave Echols. "We listen to what our fans want and we try our best to accommodate them. This year, I think they'll be happy with our new items at the various concession stands and at our Souvenir Store."
In addition to new construction on the Ashley View Pub down the left field line, which makes for a great leisurely hangout during games, new food items this season are highlighted by the new Dog World (hot dog stand that is located behind the first base line), where fans can "build their own" hot dog and dress it with more than 20 toppings.
Also, there will be the new "homewrecker" hot dog that is a foot long and weighs one-half pound, and those who get one will have the option of purchasing a "homewrecker hat" that accompanies it.
There will also be a new Ice Cream Parlor that features Edy's ice cream and a multitude of toppings, Mollicoolz ice cream and a new Vendor Village.
Also new this year will be fried dough (a dairy-free elephant ear) and a rib-b-que sandwich.
Merchandise-wise, the RiverDogs have expanded their selection of colors and increased the styles of their t-shirts and golf shirts. In addition, the club has a new selection of caps, including the new Charlie T. RiverDog cap. While there is a new RiverDog foam finger and dog bowls, the Souvenir Store now has a new heat press on site which provides fans the option to personalize a t-shirt with a name and number, right on the spot.
The RiverDogs' 11th season in beautiful Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park begins April 5 when Charleston hosts the Greenville Drive at 7:05 p.m. A multitude of ticket opportunities for Opening Night remain available and may be secured by contacting the Box Office at 843/577-DOGS (3647) or online at www.riverdogs.com.
