TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The 12th of 18 meetings and the seventh of 10 in Richmond. ‘Dogs are 7-2-2 vs. the Jackals, 5-0-1 at home. Richmond is 5-0-2 in the last seven meetings vs. the Jackals. David Brosseau and Kevin St. Jacques each have 10 points vs. the Jackals. Don Smith has 11 vs. Richmond. The ‘Dogs lead the Eastern Conference by eight points over Flint. Elmira is fourth in the East, four points behind Port Huron. Six games in the season series have been decided by one goal, three have gone to shootouts.

LAST ACTION: Richmond edged Ft. Wayne 3-2 in a shootout here last night. Jay Murphy scored the game winner in the shootout in round 13. Maxime Gingras stopped 12 of 13 Komets in the shootout. The 26 total shooters was just two shy of the UHL record for longest shootout. Elmira beat the ‘Dogs 4-3 in an overtime shootout Saturday. The ‘Dogs took leads of 1-0 and 2-1 on goals by Kevin St. Jacques and Luch Nasato but fell behind 3-2 early in the third period. David Brosseau scored to tie the game at three. Richmond went 0-5 in the shootout. Elmira was 2-7 on the power play. Eddy Lowe scored twice for the Jackals.

'DOG BITES: Richmond has played three straight shootouts for the first time this season. The 'Dogs are unbeaten in regulation in seven straight games (6-0-1). Richmond had a five game winning streak end with the shootout loss at Elmira Saturday. The ‘Dogs are 7-0-2 in their last nine home games and have won five in a row. The 'Dogs are a season high 12 games over .500. The 'Dogs play five games in six nights this week. Richmond is 19-1-2 when scoring the first goal. David Brosseau and Kevin St. Jacques had six game scoring streaks end last night. Maxime Gingras has made 16 straight starts in net. Gingras has stopped 18 of his last 20 shootout chances. Max is now fourth in the UHL in goals against average. Richmond is a combined 17-5-2 vs. Elmira and Adirondack. St. Jacques is tied for 13th in the UHL in points. Darren Wetherill is fourth in plus/minus. Gingras is fourth in goaltender wins and is tied for third in shutouts. Richmond still leads the UHL in PIM. Richmond is 14-1-4 in one goal games. J.J. Wrobel has been placed on the 7-Day IR. Richmond's win over the Komets last night snapped a four game loosing streak vs. Western Conference clubs.

JACKALS NOTES: Elmira is in a stretch of three straight games vs. Richmond and six out of seven against the ‘Dogs. The Jackals have out-scored the ‘Dogs by eight on special teams. The ‘Dogs hold a 26-16 advantage in even strength goals in the season series. Leading scorer Greg Koehler remains on a call up to San Antonio of the AHL. The Jackals have lost six straight road games and eight of their last nine. Elmira's last road win came here on January 6. The Jackals have three players on IR: Jaime Thompson, Cal Benazic, and Carl Drakensjo.

NEXT UP: Richmond hits the road for games at Elmira Friday (6:50 broadcast on 100.3) and Adirondack Saturday (7:20 broadcast on 100.3) before returning home to face Port Huron Sunday at 5:05.
