RiverCity Rage News Release

St. Charles, MO - The RiverCity Rage announced today that their leading rusher from last season, Sha'ron Edwards, was drafted by the Berlin Thunder in NFL Europe. Edwards, a product of Illinois State University, was the first pick in the 16th round in Friday's draft.

"It is an honor," said Edwards. "I'm overwhelmed right now. Being drafted is a blessing. It is a one-in-one-thousand chance."

Edwards led the NIFL in rushing yards with 804 and rushing touchdowns with 26 in just 11 games with the RiverCity Rage last season.

"Playing with the Rage last season was beautiful," added Edwards. "The Rage helped me get on that pro level. Everything is so fast playing arena ball it will help me make the transition to the speed of the NFL."

NFL Europe is a six-team league including Berlin, the Amsterdam Admirals, Cologne Centurions, Rhein Fire, Frankfort Galaxy, and Hamburg Sea Devils. The league's 15th season kicks off April 14.

"Sha'ron is a great player that just fell through the cracks last season and we were lucky to have him," said Jim Cox, Head Coach of the Rage. "We are happy for him to get this chance. It also helps us as an organization. His being drafted shows our other players that the Rage is a great place to get started in their careers as professionals."

RiverCity Rage individual game tickets are now on sale and start as low as $10. Tickets can be purchased at The Family Arena box office, any MetroTix location, www.ragefootball.com or by calling the Rage office at (636) 896-4285.
