River Raiders to Make Appearances at Area Events Over Weekend

Cedar Rapids, IA (March 18, 2004) Talk about a big weekend, the River Raiders will be at the Marion Microtel Inn & Suites Conference room on Friday March 19th from 4pm to 9pm. Those interested in coming out and meeting former Hawkeye and Assistant Coach Kenyon Murray and the Raiderettes Cheer and Dance Squad will be able to do as well as sign up for season tickets. WMT 600 radio will also be at the Microtel conducting a live remote. Staff will be on hand to answer questions about the team as well as talk about the upcoming season. Refreshments will be served.
On Saturday March 20th the River Raiders will have a booth at the KRNA, Fox 28/40 and Junge Automotive Group Big Boy Toy Show to be held at The Cedar Rapids Exhibition Center. This is a one-day event, designed to showcase products targeting the masculine gender. Some of the products youll see on display at the KRNA Big Boys Toy Show will be computers, electronics, spas, pool tables, all the latest cell phones, home theatre equipment, cars, motorcycles, boats, jet skis, hot roads, sports and fitness equipment, lawn equipment and grills. Activities may include pool tournaments, muscle man contests, car shows, 3-on-3 basketball, wall climbing, paintball demos, fishing area, dart tournaments, simulators, monster trucks, race cars, and more. The Big Boys Toy Show will also feature fashion shows for men, tool demos, do-it-yourself tips, Tae Kwan Do exhibits, and musical entertainment. Assistant Coach Kenyon Murray as well as the Raiderettes Cheer and Dance squad will also be in attendance.
The River Raiders will start its inaugural 30 game regular season (15 home games) on Friday April 16, 2004 at 7:15 vs. the Oklahoma Storm at the U.S. Cellular Center in downtown Cedar Rapids. Tickets are on sale now through the River Raiders front office, U.S. Cellular Center Box office and Ticketmaster locations. The River Raiders are an expansion franchise of the 19 year-old United States Basketball League. Season tickets are on sale now!
