River Cats Power Past Grizzlies, 5-2

West Sacramento, Calif. - Kila Ka'aihue's third-inning home run tied the game at two and helped the River Cats defeat the first-place Fresno Grizzlies by a score of 5-2 on Tuesday night at Raley Field.

After Fresno scored twice in the top of the third, Ka'aihue hit a two-run shot to dead center field to tie the game at two. Chris Carter put the River Cats ahead in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI-single and Brandon Hicks' sixth-inning home run-his fourth in his last five games and 10th in the last month-sealed the 5-2 Sacramento victory.

Ka'aihue finished 1-for-4 with a run and two RBIs while Hicks went 1-for-3 with a run and two RBIs. Carter finished 3-for-4 with his team-leading 51st RBI. Jordan Norberto struck out two in a perfect inning of work in his first rehab appearance with the Cats. Starter A.J. Griffin followed his back-to-back complete games with a six inning, two-earned run victory. Right-handed pitcher Evan Scribner earned his team-leading seventh save with a scoreless ninth. Grant Green went 2-for-4 with a run and two stolen bases.

The win puts Sacramento 1.5 games back of the Grizzlies for first place in the PCL South Division and maintains Sacramento's streak of not losing more than two games in a row this season.

Sacramento will send righty Graham Godfrey (6-0, 1.21 ERA) to the mound to face Grizzlies RHP Eric Hacker (10-2, 3.59 ERA) for a nine innings at noon Business Person's Special presented by yp.com. First pitch is set for 12:05 p.m. at Raley Field.
