Phoenix Rising FC News Release

PHOENIX, Arizona - Phoenix Rising FC has teamed up with State Forty Eight Foundation to create an inspirational mural with a renowned local artist at Starlight Park Elementary School.

The school beautification project will also feature a community soccer clinic with local products and Phoenix Rising defenders Ryan Flood (Scottsdale) and Channing Chasten (Queen Creek), the creation of a community garden by the Phoenix Rising front office and a refurbishment of Starlight Elementary's Teacher Lounge by The Million Dollar Teacher Project.

The mural consists of a paint-by-numbers design that will allow the students at Starlight Elementary to contribute to the rendition of a soccer ball combined with a globe. The design mixes Cartwright School District's "Una Familia" slogan combined with Phoenix Rising's "Rising as One" hashtag above a globe, both a symbol of Starlight Elementary's global theme and a timely nod to the upcoming World Cup, which begins next month.

Colorful stars in honor of Starlight Elementary create a vibrant tail behind the globe. Funds for the mural and garden were donated by Northern Arizona University as part of its activities honoring Hispanic Heritage Month. Additional funding was secured via grant obtained by State Forty Eight Foundation, which led this project as part of its annual Impact Days initiative.
