VANCOUVER BC - The New York Riptide scored eight consecutive goals to erase a 5-2 deficit and defeat the Vancouver Warriors 16-8 before a season high 9508 fans at Rogers Arena on Fan Appreciation Night
After spotting the Riptide an early 2-0 lead after one quarter, the Warriors erupted for five goals to jump out in front before New York started their eight goal spree, putting the Warriors on their heels for the last part of the second quarter and the third to head to the final 15 minutes with a 10-5 lead. The teams would slide through the final quarter trading chances, with the Riptide and Warriors trading chances to finish off their seasons.
Adam Charalambides led all scorers for Vancouver, scoring twice and adding three assists for five points. Shawn Evans scored one goal and added three assists while the Warriors also had two goals from Kyle Killen, and singles from Kyle Killen and Dean Fairall with his first as a Warrior and veteran Tyler Codron stuffed in his first goal of the season.
New York phenom Jeff Teat had a night for New York, flashing his MVP credentials, winning the scoring title while amassing five goals and five assists for ten points on the night.
