Riptide Partner with Island Box Lacrosse to Launch Riptide Training Academy

New York, NY - The New York Riptide announced today that the organization has partnered with Island Box Lacrosse (IBL) to launch the Riptide Training Academy.
The Riptide Training Academy will provide exclusive box lacrosse instruction through camps, clinics and tournaments across Long Island. In conjunction with Riptide staff and players, IBL directors Tony D'Elia and Brian Langtry will work to promote all events associated with the Riptide Training Academy and assist with instruction at all events.
"We're very excited to launch the Riptide Training Academy," Riptide director of grassroots Courtney Bertolone said. "We are committed to growing the game of box lacrosse here on Long Island and give local athletes the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the world."
The Riptide Training Academy will host its first event, a summer camp, on August 24-26 at the Massapequa Sports Rink from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day. Open to Novice (3-4 grade), Pee Wee (5-6 grade) and Bantam (7-8 grade) age groups, the camp will feature instruction from Riptide players and a Riptide pinnie in addition to nine ticket vouchers for use during the 2020-21 Riptide season. The camp is $275 per child and can be purchased by calling 516-331-0346.
"We are thrilled about this partnership," IBL Director Brian Langtry said. "We know the Riptide is dedicated to growing the box game on Long Island and that starts with the youth. When we were approached about this partnership, we jumped at the opportunity to team up with the Riptide."
Starting this fall, Novice, Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget aged players will have the opportunity to learn from current Riptide players and staff at additional Riptide Training Academy clinics. The program will include box specific lacrosse instruction tailored to each age group and skill level throughout the sessions.
In addition to exclusive training by Riptide players and staff, all participants will receive exclusive Riptide Training Academy branded gear, ticket vouchers to Riptide games and other exclusive player events with the players and coaches throughout the 2020-21 National Lacrosse League season.
