The Riptide threatened in the first on hits by Gina Carbonatto and Lyndsey Angus but were unable to capitalize.

Shoranda McDonald laid down a perfect bunt and beat it out to put runners at first and second. Chelsea Spenser's single up the middle scored Friedman and sent the speedy McDonald to third.
