New York Riptide News Release
Uniondale, NY - The New York Riptide announced today that the club has acquired right-handed forward Austin Madronic from the Saskatchewan Rush, plus a third round pick in 2026 from the Buffalo Bandits, in the team's second three-way trade of the summer. In exchange for Madronic, the Riptide send netminder Steven Orleman, a second round pick in 2024, and a second round pick in 2025, to Buffalo. Saskatchewan will receive right-handed forward Nathaniel Kozevnikov from Buffalo.
Madronic, 24, was drafted sixth overall by the Saskatchewan Rush in the 2022 NLL Entry Draft. Madronic will be a part of a new-look right-handed Riptide offense, which includes the likes of Kiel Matisz, Matt Anderson and Colton Lidstone, plus returning leading right-handed scorer Connor Kearnan.
Orleman, 24, spent his first two NLL seasons with the Riptide. During the 2022-23 season, the Kitchener, Ontario native posted a 3-8 record with a goals against average of 14.02, and a save percentage of .755.
