Arkansas RimRockers News Release

Little Rock, AR. (Monday, December 20, 2004)- The Arkansas RimRockers signed Brandon Dean, the 6'1" guard Brandon Dean to the remainder of the 2004-2005 season. Dean begins practicing immediately and will play with the RimRockers in their next game, Thursday, December 23 at 7:00 p.m. in Kansas City, Missouri.

Upon graduating from the University of Arkansas in 2002, he signed with the Harlem Globetrotters and then with the Chicago Soldiers of the ABA. Recently, the Soldiers folded, and released Dean from his contract, which allowed him to sign with the RimRockers.

While at the University of Arkansas, Dean was named the MVP of the SEC Tournament in 2000 after leading Arkansas to its first tournament championship. He played on an SEC all-star team that toured Japan in the summer of 1999. At Ouachita Parish High School in Monroe LA, Dean was a prep All-American, was All-state and all-district and named Addidas ABCD Camp All-American.

"We are very happy to add Brandon to the RimRocker family," Head Coach Joe Harge said. "He has experience playing in the ABA and with the Harlem Globetrotters, not to mention his phenomenal success at the University of Arkansas. "

The Arkansas RimRockers, owned by Larry Crain Sr., play all home games in Alltel Arena. Tickets for RimRocker games can be purchased by calling 501-975-7575. The American Basketball Association season runs from November through March with playoffs beginning in April.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
