Quad City Mallards News Release

Moline, IL-The Quad City Mallards today announced that the team has acquired the rights to defenseman Andrei Lupandin and forward Craig MacDonald from the Elmira Jackals in exchange for the rights to forward Frank Littlejohn.

Lupandin began the 2005-06 season in the Quad Cities. He was dealt to Motor City on March 14th in a three-way trade that brought Littlejohn to the Mallards. Lupandin recorded 28 points (five goals and 23 assists) in a 57-game stint in the Quad Cities. He capped his season with 13 appearances for the Mechanics. The Kharkiv, Ukraine native scored five points (two goals and three assists) while playing for Motor City.

During his seven-year pro career, Lupandin has appeared in 448 professional games. He has 226 career points on 70 goals and 156 assists.

MacDonald played his first full professional season last year in Elmira. The Milton, Ontario native recorded 15 points (seven goals and eight assists) with 209 penalty minutes while playing 70 games as a rookie. The 6-foot, 201-pound forward played 92 games at Elmira College before beginning his pro career in the spring of 2005 with the Jackals.

"We're very pleased to welcome Andrei back," said Mallards President Tim Taylor. "MacDonald is a feisty player that has a lot of the intangibles that our organization likes. We hate to see Frank Littlejohn go, but he wanted to move closer to his home. We respect his wishes and hope that he enjoys his time in Elmira."

Littlejohn leaves the Quad Cities after playing 14 regular season games in a Mallards sweater. During his time with the team, the Oshawa, Ontario native scored 12 points (five goals and seven assists) with 25 penalty minutes.

The Mallards Roller Hockey Camp featuring instructors Patrick Nadeau, Jason Tapp and Jami Yoder is less than two weeks away. The camp runs in two one-week segments beginning August 7th. The camp is open to all ages and will be held at the Quad City Sports Center. For information, visit the Mallards Nest Team Store to pick up a brochure or call (309) 764-7825.
