Frisco RoughRiders News Release

The RoughRiders (39-24) won their third straight game Tuesday night when they defeated the Midland RockHounds (31-32) by a score of 11-6. The 'Riders put the game away in the fifth inning thanks in part to Max Ramirez's league leading 15th home run of the year.

The Riders took the lead in the second inning when Dustin Majewski walked and forced in Emerson Frostad. The RoughRiders added another run when Ramirez followed with a walk of his own and forced in Adam Fox to give Frisco a 2-0 lead.

The Frisco lead did not last as the RockHounds tied the game in the top of the third when Justin Sellers singled and drove in Myron Leslie and Brian Snyder. Frisco recaptured the lead in their half of the third after Ben Harrison scored on a Thomas Berkery base hit to left field.

The 'Riders increased their lead in the fourth frame after Steve Murphy hit his ninth big fly of the season with Ramirez on base. Harrison made it a 6-2 game when he scored on a Midland error.

The Hounds chipped away at the Frisco lead in the fifth cutting the lead down to 6-4 but the 'Riders put the game away in the bottom half of the inning scoring three runs. Craig Gentry scored on a Dustin Majewski double to left field. Max Ramirez then followed with his 15th home run of the year that gave the 'Riders a 9-5 lead. Midland managed a run in the seventh but that's as close as they would get as they fell to the RoughRiders by a score of 11-6.

Trey Hodges (6-4) pitched five innings striking out four before handing the game over to the bullpen. Zack Parker and Brennan Garr pitched the final four innings out of the pen allowing two runs on eight hits with Garr picking up the save. Majewski, Ramirez, and Murphy combined to go 5-for-11 with seven RBI, four runs scored, and two home runs from the middle of the Frisco line up.

The series concludes Wednesday morning in Dr Pepper Ballpark as Tommy Hunter (2-2, 4.10) faces off against Midland's Scott Moore (1-1, 7.36) scheduled for an 11:00am start.
