Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release

The Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club is pleased to announce they have officially launched their retro jersey. The replica jerseys are now available exclusively in the Rider store at Mosaic Stadium and Northgate Mall.

It was back in 1948 when the Roughriders donned the Green and White for the first time. At the time, the team was in bad need of uniforms when an executive member of the club found a set of green and white jerseys at a surplus store in Chicago. For pure economic reasons the legacy of the green and white was born.

The team wore the original colours until 1985 when the Roughriders updated their look one more time by adding black and silver to the green & white and featuring a new stylized "S" logo.

The Rider players will officially unveil their new third retro jersey this weekend during the Labour Day Classic versus the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Mosaic Stadium.
