Rico Petrocelli to Attend Wine Tasting Fundraiser

Torrington, CT: For Immediate Release: The Torrington Titans are excited to announce that Ex-Red Sox All Star Rico Petrocelli has agreed to attend our Wine Tasting Fundraiser on Nov. 17. Rico Petrocelli played for the Boston Red Sox for 13 seasons as a shortstop and thirdbaseman. Two World Series, 1967 "Impossible Dream" ball club against the St. Louis Cardinals and 1975 vs. the Cincinnati Reds.

Voted into Red Sox Hall of Fame in 1997. Was first American league shortstop to hit 40 home runs in a season. Played in two all-star games. Ended career with 210 home runs and 778 RBI. Managed and coached in the White Sox and Red Sox organizations.

Broadcasting background includes, Radio Sports Talk Show co-host, Radio and TV Baseball Color Commentator, TV Bowling Show.

The Torrington Titans are a collegiate summer wood bat league team, which play their home games at Fuessenich Park in Torrington, as one of nine teams in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. The FCBL's mission is to provide student-athletes from New England, and New England Colleges, the opportunity to compete with and play with the elite players from across the country, and to promote them to MLB organizations. Each roster must contain at least 13 players from New England or from a New England University/College.
