Richmond Raiders News Release
(RICHMOND) ¬" The Richmond Raiders of the SIFL announced the signings of two more players for the 2011 season; both with impressive collegiate resumes. Rodney Landers & Junior Rosegreen have joined the team as the Raiders put the finishing touches on their 2011 preseason roster.
Rodney Landers (QB/WR) from JMU will continue his professional career with the Raiders. Landers received the 2008 Dudley Award as the top college player in the State of Virginia. He brings the ability to not only play Quarterback; but also has experience as a running back and wide receiver in the Indoor Game. Raider Head Coach Chris Simpson had these thoughts about his new offensive weapon; ¬Åin a game with 20 man active rosters a multiple position player as productive as Rodney is invaluable ¬Â
Junior Rosegreen was a 4 year letterman at Auburn and a member of Auburn's 2005 Sugar Bowl Team. Junior continued his career in the NFL playing for Seattle in 2005 and Tampa Bay in 2006. This will be Rosegreen's first season of Indoor Football but his accolades speak for themselves. ¬Å All-SEC says it all ¬Â; remarked Simpson; ¬ÅJunior Rosegreen in top form can be a game changer.
The Raiders will open the preseason at the Richmond Coliseum on Friday March 11th and will host the Trenton Steel in their season opener on Saturday March 19.
