Corpus Christi IceRays News Release
Corpus Christi- The Corpus Christi IceRays of the Central Hockey League today announce the signing of forward Ken Richardson. Richardson will join the IceRays at practice this week and is expected to play this weekend.
The 6'0", 215-pound forward joins center Russell Hogue and goaltender Brent Belecki as former San Antonio Iguanas to join the IceRays this season. Richardson spent the last two seasons in San Antonio collecting 87 points (48 goals and 39 assists) and 550 penalty minutes.
"Kenny is a big power forward and one of the premiere players in the league," said Head Coach Al Sims. "He brings leadership, toughness, and scoring to the IceRays,"
A native of Peace Rivar, Alberta, Richardson began the 2002 season in the Quebec Senior League. Widely known in the CHL as a tough checking forward who can score, Richardson has wreaked havoc in this league over the last four seasons beginning with the Huntsville Channel Cats in 1998 where he collected 17 goals and grossed 240 penalty minutes. His best season as a professional came in 2000 with the Iguanas where he scored 25 goals and added 23 assists.
