RHP David Cales Promoted to Charlotte

The Birmingham Barons and Chicago White Sox have announced that RHP David Cales has been promoted to Class AAA Charlotte. Roster at 24.

Cales, 26, will be making his second appearance at the Triple-A level having previously pitched for the Iowa Cubs in 2010. In 21 appearances including two starts with the Barons this season, Cales went 2-0 with a 4.54 ERA (21 ER/41.2 IP) with 41 strikeouts and a save.

He was signed by the White Sox organization as a free agent on June 7, 2013 and joined the Barons on July 4 where he went 1-0 with a 1.82 ERA (5 ER/224.2 IP) in 16 appearances last season.
