RGV FC Host Austin Bold on World Sea Turtle Day

EDINBURG, Texas - Rio Grande Valley FC (5-1-1, 16 pts.) will host Austin Bold FC (2-2-2, 8 pts.) on Wednesday, June 16 at H-E-B Park. Kickoff is set at 7 p.m. CST.
Wednesday is World Sea Turtle Day and the Toros will be showcasing the third kit that will support Sea Turtle Inc. in partnership with the City of South Padre Island. Every kit sold will help support Sea Turtle Inc., allowing the organization to continue to raise awareness and educate the public about the injuries that turtles face. The funds will also assist with the continuation to lead conservation efforts for all marine turtle species. The kit is available for purchase, and fans can visit www.torosteamstore.com to order their own Toros jersey.
RGV FC: The Toros improved their home record to 4-0-0 this season, dating back to 2020 RGV extends the overall winning record at home to 6-0-0. RGV FC hosted Real Monarchs SLC on Saturday and Wan Kuzain managed to steal three points for the Toros. The defensive line kept the Monarchs at a minimum and did not allow one shot on target, giving the team the third clean sheet at home. Kuzain, Elvis Amoh and Christian Sorto continue to be a threat for the opposing teams while Rodrigo Lopez and James Murphy assist with the midfield. Adrian Diz Pe leads the defensive efforts with 41 clearances, 14 interceptions and four blocks. With only one win at home against Austin Bold, the Toros are looking to continue to stay consistent at H-E-B Park.
ATX: Though Austin has only earned one win on the road, they have shown to be competitive as a visitor as they have tied twice. The Bold have four different goal scorers thus far - Jorge Troncoso, Collin Fernandez, Nicholas Hinds and Sean Okoli. Okoli leads with nine total shots while adding an assist. Returning player Xavier Baez has created eight chances throughout this season to be key for the Bold squad. At goal Elliot Panicco has totaled six saves in five appearances while keeping three clean sheets. In addition, Hugo Fauroux has totaled three saves while conceding three goals. As a Copa Tejas matchup, Austin is looking to earn the second win on the road.
