
RFK to Host International Soccer Friendly on July 24th

Washington, D.C. (July 20, 2004) - RFK Stadium will host an international friendly soccer match on Saturday, July 24th, between Club Deportivo Aguila of El Salvador and club Bolivar, the current Bolivian First Division champion. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 7:30 p.m.
The match will mark the debut of Uruguayan coach Julio César Cortes at the helm of Aguila, one of El Salvador's most popular clubs. Cortes, the former national team coach of Guatemala, has announced the following roster for the game (subject to change):
Goalkeepers: Sergio Muñoz, Misael Alfaro.
Defenders: Marvin BenÃtez, Arnold Cruz (Honduras), MartÃr Paredes, Nelson Flores. Midfielders: DarÃo Larrosa (Uruguay), Ludwin Meraz, Eliseo Salamanca, Carlos MenjÃvar, José Hernández, Salvador Coreas, Luis Perla.
Forwards: Djimi Vargas(Brasil), Freddy Vichez, Fabio Acevedo (Brasil).
Meanwhile, Bolivar, led by former star Vladimir Soria, will present a star-studded team, featuring six national team members that recently played for Bolivia in the 2004 Copa America tournament, celebrated in Peru: Limbert Pizarro, Limberg Gutiérrez, Rubén Tufiño, Miguel Mercado, Roger Suárez, and Gonzalo Galindo. The following is BolÃvar's roster (subject to change):
Goalkeepers: Mauro Machado, Miguel Acosta. Defenders: Juan Paz GarcÃa, Marco Sandy, Jhon Peña CarabalÃ, Percy Colque, Julio César Ferreira, Oscar Sánchez.
Midfielders: Leonel Reyes, Daner Pachi, Pedro Guiberguis, Luis Gaty Ribeiro, Limbert Pizarro, Limberg Gutiérrez, Rubén Tufiño.
Forwards: Miguel Mercado, Roger Suárez, Gonzalo Galindo.
General admission tickets for the friendly match can be purchased in advance for $25. On the day of the game, tickets will be $30 and available at the RFK Stadium box office. Tickets are now available by calling D.C. United at 202-587-5000. Fans can also purchase tickets at any of the Bancomercio offices and Zodiac stores in the metropolitan area and at the following establishments located in Arlington: Cecilia's Restaurant, Restaurante Tutu Bene, and Telegiros Virginia.
