New England Revolution News Release

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution (13-5-10, 49 pts; . - 6th in East.) will return to Gillette Stadium for two straight home matches beginning Saturday, Sept. 30 against Charlotte FC (7-10-12, 33 - 13th in East). The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in English and Spanish. Saturday's contest also airs locally on the radio on 98.5 The Sports Hub, with Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies on the call, and on 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA in Portuguese.

After earning a 2-2 draw against Chicago Fire FC over the weekend, the Revolution are officially bound for the Audi 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs, the club's fourth postseason berth in the last five years. With five regular season games remaining for New England, the Revolution will look to leap back up the congested Eastern Conference standings, where they are one of three teams tied on 49 points, only two behind second-place Orlando City SC (51). The Revolution have had little trouble earning points at home, carrying a 10-0-4 record into the short homestand as the league's last team without a home loss.

In last Saturday's draw, New England forward Tomás Chancalay sparked the attack with six shots and netted the opening goal of the match, an unassisted tally. The 24-year-old Argentinian has now tallied three times in his first six MLS appearances. Midfielder Carles Gil tacked on his team-leading ninth tally of the season, one shy of his career high for goals (10 in 2019). With his next assist, Gil will become the second player in MLS history to record 14 or more assists in four different seasons, joining Carlos Valderrama (5).

The Revolution captain, once again a leading candidate for Landon Donovan MLS MVP and MLS Best XI and honors, has found the scoresheet in three consecutive matches, with two goals and one assist.

Across the teams' first three MLS meetings, New England owns a 2-1-0 record against Charlotte FC, which joined MLS as an expansion side in 2022. The Revolution opened the current season against the Crowns, registering a 1-0 win on the road. Charlotte enters the weekend four points below the playoff line, winless in its last five games.

2023 Fight Childhood Cancer Match

As Childhood Cancer Awareness Month draws to a close, the New England Revolution will host their annual Fight Childhood Cancer Match on Saturday night at Gillette Stadium, "going gold" throughout the building and on the field to show support for all the children and families impacted by pediatric cancer. Below is a small sample of the numerous activations in and around Gillette Stadium on Saturday.

Hero of the Match: Malia Jusczyk

The Revolution will posthumously honor Malia Jusczyk of Plainville, Mass. as Saturday's Hero of the Match, with the Jusczyk family present on Malia's behalf. In June of 2023, Malia lost her heroic 26-month battle with cancer at the age of 14. Revolution players will honor Malia with special "MJ" shirts upon arrival at the stadium, while one of the player's Kick Childhood Cancer warm-up tops will feature Malia's name.

Revolution Drive Series Presented by the Dan O'Brien Automotive Group:

The Revolution invite fans to donate birthday party supplies in support of the Confetti Foundation, whose mission is to supply birthday parties to children who have to spend their special days in a hospital, pediatric oncology clinic, or hospice facility. In addition to donating party supplies at all stadium entry gates, fans can also support the Confetti Foundation by creating birthday cards for patients in the Revolution Fan Zone.

Remy's Ride for Childhood Cancer

Local teenager and Special Olympics Unified Team member Remy St. Germain will embark on a 75-mile bike ride from "Why Me and Sherry's House", an organization committed to fighting childhood cancer, in Worcester, Mass. to Patriot Place. Remy's ride is in honor of his cousin, Sophia, who passed away at the age of four after a battle with leukemia. Remy is due to arrive at the outdoor stage at Patriot Place at approximately 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Kick Childhood Cancer Pregame Tops

Each of the players Kick childhood Cancer pregame tops will feature the name of a local pediatric cancer patient. Following the match, players will sign their respective tops before they are sent to the patients.
