Sacramento Republic FC News Release
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - On Monday, the USL Championship announced that Luis Felipe's October 2 score against Tacoma Defiance was voted the Fan's Choice Goal of the Month for October.
Felipe's left footed rocket from 35 yards out- his fourth score of the season- captured 30% of the vote, putting him ahead of Tampa Bay's Joaquin Rivas to take home the honor. Alongside his 90% passing accuracy for the match, the strike also earned him a selection to the USL Championship Team of the Week Bench for Week 24.
This is the second consecutive Goal of the Month honor garnered by a Republic FC player, and the fourth nomination this season. Academy product Julian Chavez took home the award for his score against Las Vegas Lights FC on September 5.
