Reno's Blake Ahearn and Andre Emmett Named Co-Performers of the Week

NEW YORK, Jan. 3, 2012 - Reno Bighorns Blake Ahearn and Andre Emmett were today named NBA Development League Co-Performers of the Week for games played Dec. 26 - Jan. 1.
Ahearn, a 6-3, 190-pound guard out of Missouri State, averaged 30.0 points on 64 percent shooting to go with 5.7 assists and 4.3 rebounds, while Emmett, a 6-5, 224-pound forward out of Texas Tech, averaged 26.0 points on 67 percent shooting along with 6.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists as the Bighorns went 2-1 on the week.
Ahearn began the week with back-to-back 35-point outings as the Bighorns defeated the Idaho Stampede 120-98 on Dec. 26 and the Bakersfield Jam 139-114 on Dec. 29. In his third game of the week, he registered 20 points, four rebounds and four assists in a one-point loss, 98-99, to the Jam on Dec. 30. For the season, Ahearn is averaging 26.2 points and 7.0 assists in 39.6 minutes.
Emmitt scored a week's high 39-points to go with eight rebounds and eight assists in the Dec. 29 outing against the Jam and returned the next night to score 29 points, pulling down five rebounds and dishing out four assists on Dec. 30. Against the Stampede, he chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds in the win on Dec. 26. On the season, Emmitt is averaging 20.6 points and 4.6 rebounds in 32.4 minutes.
Other top performers considered include the Dakota Wizards' Maurice Baker, who averaged 12.0 points and 10.5 assists; the Canton Charge's Tyrell Biggs, who averaged 17.0 points and 5.3 rebounds; the Springfield Armor's JamesOn Curry, who averaged 22.0 points and 5.0 assists; the Erie BayHawks' Chris Daniels, who averaged 20.0 points and 6.7 rebounds; the Austin Toros' Eric Dawson, who averaged 22.5 points and 12.5 rebounds; the Iowa Energy's Moses Ehambe, who averaged 20.5 points and 3.0 assists; the Los Angeles D-Fenders' Courtney Fortson, who averaged 19.0 points and 7.5 assists, the Bakersfield Jam's Jeremy Hazell, who averaged 19.0 points and 4.0 rebounds; the Fort Wayne Mad Ants' Darnell Lazare, who averaged 21.7 points and 7.0 rebounds; the Tulsa 66ers' Marcus Lewis, who averaged 12.5 points and 19.5 rebounds; the Sioux Falls' Skyforce's Casey Mitchell, who averaged 25.0 points and 5.3 rebounds; the Texas Legends' Chris Roberts, who averaged 18.0 points and 7.0 rebounds and the Rio Grande Valley Vipers' Greg Smith, who averaged 16.0 points and 9.7 rebounds.
