WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - Kyle Battle's walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth gave Hudson Valley a 3-2 win over the BlueClaws on Friday night at Dutchess Stadium.

The Renegades (68-55) moved back into first place, a half-game up on Brooklyn, with eight games remaining in the season. The BlueClaws (46-78) have dropped two straight after winning the first two games of the series.

Battle's single, which came off Jonathan Hughes (0-4), brought in Spencer Henson, who walked to start the inning. Jack Neely (1-0) earned the win with 1.1 innings of scoreless relief in his Renegades debut.

Anthony Seigler opened the scoring in the third with an RBI single off Jordi Martinez to give Hudson Valley a 1-0 lead. That run, however, would be the only run allowed by Martinez in the game. The southpaw gave up one run in five innings with five strikeouts in his BlueClaws debut.

The BlueClaws came back to take the lead in the seventh. Anthony Quirion's RBI double tied the game and Nick Matera put the BlueClaws ahead with an RBI single.

The lead, however, didn't last, as Anthony Seigler's RBI double of Tristan Garnett tied the game at two.

Baron Radcliff had two hits for Jersey Shore while Sal Gozo had a hit and a stolen base.

The teams continue their series on Saturday night at 7:05 pm.
