Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

The Renegades snap a three-game losing streak with a 14-2 win over the Vermont Lake Monsters Wednesday night in front of 1,908 fans at Centennial Field.

The Renegades offense dominated the Lake Monster's pitching staff recording a season-high 14 runs on 17 hits, which ties the season-high for hits. Burt Reynolds recorded his best day at the plate with a 4-for-5 night with a run scored, a double and three RBI. The four hits ties a season-high by a Renegade.

Second baseman Robby Price extended his current on-base streak to 25 games and his hitting streak to 14 games. Price went 1-for-5 on the night with a run scored, a double, two RBI and a walk.

The Renegades were firing on all cylinders as the pitching staff recorded a season-high 17 strikeouts on the night and walked just three. Righty Wilmer Almonte started the game for the Gades and struck out a season-high nine batters in just five innings (15 outs).

The Renegades struck quick and hard in the visiting half of the second plating eight runs giving them a lead they would never give up. Leading 7-0 with a runner on third, Elias Otero singled to center field to cap the Renegades scoring for the inning bringing the score to 8-0.

Vermont plated a run apiece in the second and third to bring the score to 8-2 but that would prove to be the only offense the Lake Monsters would have all night. The Renegades brought the score to its final, 14-2, plating four runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth.

The Renegades take on Vermont in game two of the three-game series tomorrow night with the first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m.
