STATEN ISLAND, NY-The Staten Island Yankees (19-16) scored a single run in the fourth inning to snap the Connecticut Tigers' (20-17) three-game winning streak with a 1-0 win on Wednesday afternoon at Richmond County Ballpark.

The Yankees scored a run in the fourth inning against Connecticut RHP Brennan Smith (0-2). 2B Casey Stevenson (2-4) led off the inning with a solo home run for a 1-0 Yankees lead.

Smith pitched a complete game in the loss. He went eight innings, walked one man and struck out six in the first complete game by a Connecticut starter this season.

The Tigers scattered six hits on Wednesday afternoon. LF Ryan Enos (2-3) and 2B Alexander Nunez (1-3) led the way offensively for Connecticut.

The Tigers and Yankees continue their series on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. RHP Clemente Mendoza (2-3, 6.44) gets the start for Connecticut against LHP Nik Turley (0-2, 7.11) for Staten Island. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:50 p.m. on AM 1310 WICH and online at milb.com.
