Renegades Score Two in Bottom of the Tenth for Comeback Win

In exciting fashion, the Hudson Valley Renegades increased their win streak to two games with a 5-4 win over the Brooklyn Cyclones, in ten innings at Dutchess Stadium. After the Cyclones scored in the top of the 10th on a RBI single by Caleb Stewart, the Renegades bounced back with a two-run double from second baseman Robert Asanovich, in the bottom of the tenth to win the game.

Jonathan Barrat (0- 0), started the game for the Renegades pitching four innings, allowing four hits and two earned runs. Angel Volquez (W,1-0), got the win for the Renegades pitching both the 9th and 10th inning, allowing two hits and one run.

Michael Devaney (0- 0), started for the Cyclones tossing four innings of two hit baseball, while only allowing one run. Daniel Foli (L, 0-1), blew the save in the 10th inning and got the loss. Foli pitched 1.1 innings allowing three hits and two runs.

Renegades designated hitter, Chad Cooper, was 1-3 with a RBI single in the first and left fielder Francisco Leandro was 2-4, scoring one run. Cyclone designated hitter Dante Brinkley was 2-4 with a triple on the night with three runs scored.

Tomorrow, the Cyclones and Renegades square off again finishing their two game series in Brooklyn. On the mound for the Renegades is LHP Matt Cobb (0- 0, 0.00 ERA) and for the Cyclones, RHP Izan Maldanado, (0- 0, 0.00 ERA). Game time is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
