Rome, Ga. - The Rome Renegades would like to introduce Offensive/Defensive Lineman John Bowman. Bowman, 6-3, 265 pounds, played football at Wingate University for 4 years and graduated in December of 2005 with a degree in Marketing. During the 2005 NIFL season, Bowman played with the Daytona Beach Hawgs. During the season, he was second in the league in sacks with 12 and third in the league in tackles for loss with 18. Bowman faced the Renegades last year in Daytona and after a dominating performance; the Renegades decided that he would be a vital part to the team.

When asked about living in Rome, Bowman, from Rockingham, NC said "It is the same kind of town that I am from. There is great fan support here and the people get to know you fast." Bowman is excited about the opportunity of being a Renegade. He said, "Even though it is a young squad, I feel that everything is still well organized." For the upcoming season, his personal goals include leading the AIFL in sacks and tackles for loss with the hopes of moving up. And his team goals include winning all-conference and then the championship.
